Thursday Night Football is here, and…WOOF.
What a dog we have on our hands ladies and gentlemen.
Tennessee and Jacksonville, two of the most unwatchable teams in the league.
Sounds like we need to put some money on this one to make it exciting!
The line is -4.5 in favour of the Titans, with the total at 37.5.
The Jaguars are coming off their best game defensively off the season, shutting out Andrew Luck and the Colts at home to break their seven-game losing streak.
The Titans battled back from a 16-0 deficit to the Jets last week, and prevailed thanks to 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. With an easy schedule coming up, Tennessee’s playoff hopes are very much alive.
Don’t expect a shootout in this one. Both the Jags and Titans average under 20 points a game, with both offenses ranking near the bottom of the NFL.
A stat which jumps out to me is that Jacksonville are 1-4-1 against the spread in its last six games against Tennessee. The total has also gone over in five of the Jags’ last seven road games at LP Field.
One of the biggest storylines going into this one is Leonard Fournette returning from his one-game suspension.
The Titans are better defending the pass than the ground-game, so expect Jacksonville to go run-heavy with Fournette, Yeldon, and Hyde. Plus, when you have Cody Kessler as your QB and Donte Moncrief as your best receiver, you really have no choice.
While the Jags defense is feeling good, you still take Marcus Mariota outscoring Cody Kessler any day of the week.
Tennessee at home with the edge in historical betting numbers, plus the better quarterback and head coach on their side.
