Atlanta Falcons Offensive guard Ben Garland was awarded the 2018 Salute to Service Award on Wednesday.

The award celebrates those in the NFL who honor and support members of the military. Garland will receive the award on Saturday during the NFL Honors show in Atlanta.

Garland has experience as a Public Affairs Officer for both the U.S. Air Force and the Colorado National Guard. He played college football with the Air Force Falcons from 2006-2009, before signing with the Denver Broncos in 2010.

Past winners of the Salute to Service Award include head coaches John Harbaugh and Dan Quinn.

Good touch by the USAA and the NFL to recognize guys like this each year.
