Folks, this may be the most fire six minutes of sports radio in sports radio history. Mike Francesa was being attacked by his own colleagues, Boomer Esiason and Gio Giannotti, on their morning show when they misquoted Francesa and tried to drag his name through the mud.
Boomer and Gio implied that Mike Francesa was putting blame on New York Giants Draft pick Corey Ballentine for being shot when there’s no evidence that Ballentine did anything wrong.
Francesa stood his ground and made sure that he emphasized that they took his quote out of context and they are in the wrong for doing it.
He also went on a tirade saying that the Giants are a complete joke. As a Giants fan, I agree with this take completely. They had the worst draft of all time last week and the team is in total disarray. The management team has no plan and Francesa is right to call them out for it.
When it’s all said and done, I don’t always agree with everything that Mike Francesa says. He’s way too big of an Eli Manning supporter for my liking and he was over the moon when the Giants traded Odell Beckham Jr.
That being said, when I do agree with Mike Francesa it’s an extremely good time. The way he digs into his takes and doubles down on them makes me respect him greatly.
