It sucks to have Gary Thorne’s job these days

Seriously. Gary Thorne was my childhood, calling NHL games, and now he’s stuck calling a Triple-A roster that is getting pumped nearly every night in the MLB.

The Orioles absolutely stink, and Gary Thorne (god bless his soul), still goes out every day and calls Chris Davis striking out on pitches in the dirt at a half-empty Camden Yards field.

Maybe they could give this dude the All-Star game this year? It’s the least the league could do for someone who currently has the worst broadcasting job in baseball.

There’s not many guys who can call two different sports at a high-level, and Gary Thorne is one of the few outliers.

This call of Steve Yzerman’s series clinching playoff goal in 1996 against St.Louis still stands out to this day:
