Folks, the man who bet $400 to win $100,000 on the Blues to win the Stanley Cup back when they were in last place in the entire NHL in January isn’t planning on hedging his bet. I’m not sure if he’s stupid or if he has balls of steel. I’m gonna go with the latter and say that he has balls of steel.
This guy is going full send and I love it. He could have easily made a quick $40,000-$50,000 by hedging the bet or selling the ticket to someone else but that’s not good enough for him. He’d rather lay it all out on the line and use the Ricky Bobby “if you’re not first, you’re last” logic.
Personally I would have hedged this bet as soon as the Blues won the west. I would have gladly taken the $40,000-$50,000 and put a down payment on a house somewhere. Either way, I hope the Blues win so this guy gets paid. Would be as great of a story as the Blues coming back from dead last in the entire NHL and beating the worst fans in all of sports.
